EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

I am recognised for my expertise in functional training and my commitment to developing and implementing innovative fitness techniques, recognised by many local doctors and health care professionals.

With 13 years experience and a client list as diverse as my training methods I emphasise a well rounded approach to health and fitness that encompasses all modalities of fitness training that includes flexibility and mobility, balance, core strength, strength training and cardiovascular exercise.

I also constantly strive to stay abreast of the latest information through continuing education and have studied and continue to study with The National Academy Of Sports Medicine, The CHEK Institute and FMA Strength Training.

With over 15 years of experience helping clients improve their health and fitness, I have collected thousands of data points and trends on clients goals and lifestyles.

Initially clients tell me how they want to lose weight and have a better body.

However, when I start talking and getting to know my clients better it is clear that their weight loss goals are driven by something else.

They want to achieve weight loss and a better body so that they can…..

 

BECOME MORE CONFIDENT, HAPPY, HEALTHIER AND HAVE MORE ENERGY FOR THEIR FAMILY

This is huge, and as an industry I believe we are FAILING our clients by ignoring this fact.

Being fit and healthy is more than just completing a diet and suffering through extreme workouts.

A health and fitness plan is part physiology, part psychology, part science and part entertainment (you have to enjoy your workouts!)

At APF our coaching method is both research driven and personal. This means that we use the latest scientific findings to help coach our clients through the unique challenges of their own lives.

We do this by using all sorts of different tools and strategies.

This includes

  • Finding a form of exercise they enjoy
  • Providing them with a healthy eating strategy that makes healthy eating time efficient and cost effective
  • Implement strategies to help make healthy changes to their hectic lifestyles that are PRACTICAL for them. 

There is a lot more to a health and fitness plan than people think.

For most clients, the weight loss and better body they are after are really just the tip of the iceberg. By focusing only on weight loss and workouts we are forcing an approach on people that they must fit into their lifestyle, which often only results in 2 outcomes.

  1. They suffer through the program and then go back to their old habits and lifestyle once they have achieved their goal.
  2. They start a program, fail and then have even lower self confidence because they weren’t able to fit the inappropriate demands of the program into their lifestyle.

THIS APPROACH IN THE HEALTH AND FITNESS NEEDS TO CHANGE

Rather than forcing a specific approach onto clients that has proven successful for a particular individual, we need to first of all understand the clients unique lifestyle stressors and goals. 

From there we can then help an individual make the changes they need, through small, sustainable steps to achieve long lasting, positive changes to their health and fitness. 

That is why we don’t just offer Personal Training or Group Fitness programs, with the demands of modern life you need more. 

You need practical tools to help make a healthy lifestyle as easy as possible. Fortunately the continuing evolution of technology is making this easier for us and we will continue to focus on finding new, innovative and disruptive ways to provide these tools to help take the stress and expense out of a healthy lifestyle.
